Hi Matthew,

I believe Justin was using his Garmin watch. We do use Strava pretty frequently as well.

What app do you use to track your speed/ distance? That’s really cool. I was leaning towards strava or paddle logger but am still undecided. Thanks!

Hi Jose,

The 3 black rectangles are the fin boxes. It’s the connection point for when you attach your fins to your SUP.

Hi Michael, those two boards both plenty stable and either one will have more than enough weight support for yourself and your pup. The main areas where they’ll differ is in speed and weight. Because they’re both the same width, and the Meno is 11’6 long instead of 10′, you’ll be able to go just a little bit faster on the Meno than you would on the Model X. The Meno 11’6 is also 3 lbs lighter than the Model X, so something to consider if you’ve got a long walk to the water. Overall though, both are really good options for someone that wants to bring along a dog, so if price is a concern the 11’6 Meno would be a great choice.

Love your reviews. Getting into paddle boarding in Hawaii. I haven’t been doing water sports for sometime now and want to get back into it but mainly for getting back into shape. We have a cheap inflatable now but it’s narrow (I believe 31″) and it’s 10′. It’s hard to balance standing up. Also we just found out our 43 lb dog loves riding along on the water. Kneeling with our pooch is super unstable.
Looking at a 35″ wide board and based on your reviews, I’m looking at either the Blackfin X or the Gili Meno. There is a big price difference between the 2.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Michael
